Adaptive technology is a wonderful activity that has students consider the pros and cons of technology and how it can be used to support students with exceptionalities (e.g. reading and writing challenges). This activity is inspired by this link: https://www.understood.org/en/school-learning/assistive-technology/assistive-technologies-basics/8-examples-of-assistive-technology-and-adaptive-tools
Candidates need to consider students’ strengths and needs, available budgets, willingness of teachers and students to learn, available training, and practicality. Some helpful links for this activity: http://www.assistivetech.com/adaptive-technology-versus-assistive-technology/ and https://www.setbc.org/ Again, I remain unsure if this activity can be used in my future course as the course will already have been designed.
